After practicing employment law for almost a decade, Petula Workman began her career in Employee Benefits in 2002 when she started working for the Gallagher Benefit Services Houston office as Director of Compliance. During her time in that position, she was instrumental in helping clients focus on legislative matters that required compliance in order for their benefit plans to work effectively and in accordance with state and federal regulations.

As Area Vice President, Managing Compliance Counsel for the South Central Region, she assists over 40 different regional offices with day-to-day compliance needs related to PPACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, cafeteria plan regulations, nondiscrimination requirements under Section 125 and 105(h) of the Internal Revenue Code, GINA, MHPAEA, and other legislative matters that affect employee benefit plans. Petula is a frequent speaker for client seminars, human resources organizations including SHRM and HRMA, CPA organizations, and other industry-related organizations on topics ranging from healthcare to COBRA to wellness programs.

Petula is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin Plan II Honors Program and the University of Houston Law Center. She is married and lives in Sugar Land, Texas with her husband, Rusty, and their two daughters. She has served as a member of the Partners Board for the Honor Roll School, and on the boards of the Gulf Coast Council for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Stage Right Theater, and the Young Friends of Ronald McDonald House.
